Holy Hours were begun by St. Margaret Mary Alacoque following a vision that she had of Christ in 1673 where he instructed her to come down from her room every Thursday night and to spend an hour in meditation on the sufferings of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane.
In the Parish of the Immaculate Conception, holy hours form part of the First Friday devotions and take place between 7.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m. on the first Friday of every month unless otherwise announced in the weekly newsletter.
